A second suspect has been arrested in relation to the murder of slain Wells Fargo human resource manager Willis Onyango Ayieko. The woman was apprehended in Siaya Town, where police recovered a pistol believed to belong to Ayieko.

Police report that the woman was accompanied by her boyfriend, the primary suspect in Ayieko’s murder, who managed to escape from the scene with a gunshot wound. According to authorities, the two were driving in a sedan when they encountered police, leading to a “fierce exchange of fire.” The pistol, now recovered, was found to be empty. Police have urged local medical facilities to report any individual seeking treatment for gunshot wounds.
The woman’s arrest follows that of Victor Ouma Okoth, detained on Monday night in Dandora, Nairobi. Okoth allegedly rented a residence in Dandora’s Phase Four using funds obtained through the crime. Forensic analysis placed him at the scene, and he is currently held at Muthaiga Police Station as DCI continues to investigate further leads.
Ayieko’s body was discovered on October 23 in a stream in Yala, Siaya County, after he had been missing for a week. An autopsy conducted by Chief Government Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor revealed he died from brain bleeding caused by severe injuries inflicted by his attackers. The autopsy further noted that Ayieko had sustained bruises on his wrists, likely from handcuffs, and damage to his face and stomach, suggesting he had been dragged along a rough surface.
Ayieko’s car was later found in Sabatia, Vihiga County, likely moved to mislead authorities about the location of the murder. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is actively analyzing leads to arrest any other individuals connected to Ayieko’s murder.
