Katito Rangers were crowned champions of the 10th edition of the Engineer Opudo Super Cup after edging Amigos Football Club 1–0 in a tense final played at Gem Rae Primary School grounds in Nyakach Sub-County.

Rangers booked their place in the final with a commanding 2–0 victory over Vasco Football Club in the first semi-final. They then faced an Amigos side that had earlier dismantled Chriss Academy Football Club 3–0 at Rae Girls Football Pitch to secure their own final berth.
The narrow win sealed a memorable campaign for Katito Rangers, who walked away with a giant trophy, football kits, and cash prizes, as other participating teams were also feted. The annual tournament attracted at least 17 teams, all composed of players aged 19 years and below.

Speaking on the sidelines, tournament sponsor Engineer Jecks Opudo said the age cap was deliberately set to protect opportunities for genuinely young talents. He noted that in previous editions, players from FKF leagues had edged out grassroots youths, limiting chances for emerging players to shine.
“Every team must field players who are strictly 19 years and below. They must present valid birth certificates, school admission numbers, UPI numbers, and national IDs for verification. We apply FIFA rules to ensure fairness and give young people a genuine platform to showcase their talent,” said Opudo.
He explained that the tournament was founded to unite youth in Nyakach, keep them engaged during school holidays, and shield them from drug abuse and criminal activities. Opudo added that the competition has become a proven pathway for talent exposure, with several players securing full education scholarships and opportunities in clubs both locally and abroad since its inception.
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) National Executive Committee (NEC) Member for Nyanza Region, Kalee Collins, who attended as chief guest, praised the quality of football and discipline displayed throughout the tournament. He emphasized that discipline remains a key pillar for success and pledged support from FKF and other football bodies to nurture the rising talents.
