With grassroots elections set to commence on November 27, 2024, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) gathered its delegates on Thursday, November 14, 2024, for a crucial conference in Migori County. The event, held at Migori Stadium, brought together ODM delegates from across the county to mobilize support and reaffirm party loyalty ahead of the anticipated elections.

Kisumu County Governor and acting ODM party leader, Prof. Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o, led the conference alongside ODM Chairperson, H.E. Gladys Wanga, and Migori County Governor Ochilo Ayako. Addressing the delegates, Nyong’o called for a united front, urging all ODM members to verify their membership and engage in the grassroots election process.
“I call upon the people of Migori and all Kenyans to join ODM as we approach the grassroots elections,” Nyong’o said. “Together, we can build a party that truly represents the aspirations of every Kenyan, starting from the community level. Let us come together to create a movement that addresses our people’s needs and advocates for a just, equitable future for all.”
ODM Chairperson Gladys Wanga emphasized on Migori’s strategic importance within the party’s framework, highlighting the significance of a strong grassroots foundation.
“We are committed to revitalizing our party from the grassroots level. Tuko Tayari!” Wanga said, noting the party’s dedication to grassroots mobilization and unity.
