Dr. Evans Kidero, Chairperson of the Board of Directors, has commended President William Ruto for his recent election as the Chair of the East African Community (EAC) during an address at the burial of Hon. Jared Opiyo’s father in Awendo.

Kidero congratulated the President for his leadership and efforts to lower the cost of living, emphasizing his commitment to collaborating with the government in ensuring affordable access to farm inputs such as fertilizers.
“As a state corporation chairman, I am fully committed to working hand in hand with the government to make farm inputs, especially fertilizers, more affordable for our farmers. This is critical for reducing the cost of living and enhancing food security,” Kidero stated.
Support for Raila Odinga’s AUC Bid
Dr. Kidero also expressed his support for Hon. Raila Odinga in his bid for the African Union Commission (AUC) chairperson position, a continental election set to take place in the next three months.
“I extend my best wishes to the Honorable Prime Minister Raila Odinga in his pursuit of the AUC chairmanship. His dedication to uniting the country and fostering peace has been invaluable, and I have no doubt he will bring the same vigor to the continental stage,” he said.
Call for Unity and Progress
During the event, Kidero underscored the importance of political and social unity for national and regional progress. He commended both President Ruto and Raila Odinga for their roles in steering the nation towards peace and development.
“This is a moment for all leaders to come together, both locally and continentally, to ensure that our people reap the benefits of stable leadership and shared aspirations,” he added.
The remarks come at a pivotal moment for Kenyan leadership, with President Ruto at the helm of regional integration efforts and Raila Odinga vying for a significant continental leadership role.
