Siaya County Governor James Orengo is mourning the death of Willis Ayieko, the Wells Fargo Human Resource Manager, whose body was found in a swamp in Dudi, Gem, Siaya County, after what police suspect to be an abduction and murder.

Governor Orengo expressed profound grief over the tragic loss, remembering Ayieko as “a great son of Siaya and a Kenyan patriot. A gentleman par excellence. A good man,” he said in a statement.

In his message of condolence, Orengo reached out to Ayieko’s family, offering words of comfort during this painful time.

To his beloved wife and children, my friends Aggrey Onyango, Edwin Ng’ong’a, and the entire family, I pray that the Almighty gives you the strength and fortitude to bear this most tragic loss. When will abduction stop and assassination end?” Orengo lamented.

Gem Yala Police Commander Charles Wafula confirmed that Ayieko’s body had been transferred to the Aga Khan Hospital morgue in Kisumu as investigations began. Authorities are working to identify the two men captured on CCTV and to uncover how they obtained the truck.
