A multi-stakeholder forum bringing together elders, church leaders, professionals, youth representatives, political leaders and government administrators has called for inclusive and coordinated approaches to address pressing challenges facing the people of Nyakach.

The meeting tackled a wide range of issues, including persistent border conflicts, peacebuilding efforts, education, and community empowerment. Participants noted that while the impact of these challenges varies across groups, sustained collective dialogue remains critical to achieving durable and inclusive solutions.
Speaking after the session, Grassroots Impact Centre Organization CEO Dr Johannes Atela said the forum reached a strong set of resolutions that will be consolidated into a memorandum and submitted to government authorities at various levels. He said stakeholders are committed to actively championing peace in the Sondu area along the Nyakach–Kericho border through continuous engagement with neighbouring communities, elders and the provincial administration.
Dr Atela further underscored the urgency of investing in education, technology and innovation as traditional agriculture comes under increasing strain from climate change, shrinking land sizes and rising population pressure. He cautioned that politically driven handouts risk luring youths away from productive engagement, stressing that empowering young people economically is key to long-term stability and sustainable growth in Nyakach.
