Kisumu Central MP and gubernatorial hopeful Joshua Oron has pledged unwavering support for President William Ruto’s leadership beyond the 2027 General Election, urging the Luo community to position itself firmly within government to secure sustainable development and national representation.

Speaking during the commissioning of new classrooms in Kisumu Central, Oron emphasized that his political alignment with President Ruto is rooted in long-term cooperation rather than the next election cycle alone.
“The Luo community can no longer afford political isolation if it hopes to enjoy equitable development,” Oron said. “Our support goes beyond 2027 because development is continuous and must be sustained.”
Oron lauded President Ruto for his inclusive leadership, noting that despite the Luo community not voting for him in 2022, the region has continued to benefit from development projects and strategic appointments.
He highlighted the appointment of Olago Aluoch as Chairperson of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) Board, which has directly facilitated the construction of new classrooms and other educational infrastructure in Kisumu Central.
“President Ruto has shown that leadership is about unity and service to all Kenyans, including those who did not support him politically,” Oron said.
NG-CDF Board Chairperson Olago Aluoch echoed Oron’s remarks, calling on Nyanza residents to support the President to sustain development gains. He also addressed the uncertainty surrounding the NG-CDF following a court ruling ordering its abolition, attributing the move to pressure from the Council of Governors.

Aluoch confirmed that Parliament, the NG-CDF Board, and the Attorney General have filed an appeal, with a ruling expected by February next year. “We have presented strong evidence and are optimistic of a favourable judgment,” he said.
The leaders officiated the opening of new classrooms at St Mary’s Kibuye Girls Primary School, Kondele Primary School, and St Paul’s Kanyakwar Primary School. NG-CDF CEO Yusuf Mbuno revealed plans to invest in climate change mitigation to address flooding that has disrupted learning in schools such as Nanga Primary School.
A total of Sh21 million has been spent on the classroom projects, benefiting hundreds of pupils across the constituency.
