Lang’ata MP and media personality Felix Oduor, alias Jalang’o, has grounded 36 choppers that were scheduled to land at Nairobi’s iconic Uhuru Gardens during this weekend’s highly-anticipated Luo Festival 2025, citing serious security concerns.
“Choppers have been cancelled because we’ve gotten a security risk, this is a flight path, and we’re right next to Wilson Airport,” Jalang’o told reporters. “We’ve issued special emails to those revelers who had confirmed their arrival by chopper.”

However, the MP cheekily added that those intent on flying can still land at Carnivore grounds and find their way to the venue.
“There’s enough parking at Uchumi and Uhuru Gardens,” he assured.
With the aviation drama out of the way, Jalang’o unveiled the premium ticketing structure for the August 9th celebration: VIP access will go for KSh 2,000, VVIP at KSh 3,000, while an ultra-exclusive Golden Table package is priced at a cool KSh 150,000 strictly for special guests.
Foodies are also in for a treat, as Wapek Delicacies has been tapped to serve up sumptuous Luo cuisine alongside an open bar stocked with all kinds of drinks.
Organizers have promised an electrifying edition of the Luo Festival this year, with revelers from all 47 counties and the diaspora having already secured their tickets online. The mega-event is set to kick off at 2pm on Saturday and run non-stop till 4am Sunday.
