Residents of Kisumu were treated to a unique shopping experience after Naivas Supermarket brought its Ni Kwetu campaign to the lakeside city, offering customers free shopping vouchers and an opportunity to interact with the retailer and its suppliers.

The campaign, held at the Naivas Simba store, is part of the retailer’s nationwide initiative aimed at celebrating Kenya’s diverse cultures while strengthening its relationship with customers across the country.

Speaking to the media, Naivas CEO Andreas von Paleske thanked Kisumu customers for their continued loyalty since the retailer established its presence in the city.

Paleske said the campaign was designed to position Naivas as a brand that is relevant to consumers in every part of the country, in line with its ambition of becoming the consumer brand of choice.

“We are really grateful to be received by the people of Kisumu. Our vision as Naivas is to become the consumer brand of choice. We want to be relevant to all consumers in every home. That is why we are running the Ni Kwetu campaign, which says we are meant to be in every home,” Paleske said.

He said the initiative was inspired by Kenya’s cultural diversity and the need for businesses to celebrate and connect with customers in different regions.

Paleske noted that Naivas has more than 100 stores across Kenya and employs more than 12,000 people, adding that investing in people and supporting customers remains central to the company’s operations.

He said the shopping vouchers offered during the event were part of Naivas’ tradition of giving back to its customers and ensuring they could enjoy selected products without having to spend their own money.

Naivas Chief Commercial Officer Jorsen Patten described the retailer as a key economic player in the regions where it operates, particularly through employment creation and partnerships with local suppliers.

Patten said Naivas, which has operated in Kenya for 36 years, launched the Ni Kwetu campaign in July as part of efforts to celebrate its customers and connect with communities across the country.

“We are here to celebrate with our people in Kisumu. We launched the Ni Kwetu campaign in July, and now we want to celebrate our customers in various regions in Kenya,” Patten said.

He said the Kisumu activation was also an opportunity for Naivas to connect with the local culture while showcasing products from its suppliers and giving customers an opportunity to engage directly with various brands.

According to Patten, the company’s strength is anchored in its partnerships with suppliers, who play a critical role in ensuring products reach consumers across its growing network of stores.

The Kisumu event brought together Naivas customers, suppliers and members of the local community, with shoppers receiving various goodies and vouchers as the retailer continued its nationwide customer engagement campaign.
