Kenya’s Ambassador to Egypt mourns the death of Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga in solemn condolence message

The Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Hon. Fred Outa, CBS, has issued a deeply moving message of condolence following the passing of former Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, who died while undergoing treatment in India on Wednesday.

In an official statement released from the Kenyan Embassy in Cairo, Ambassador Outa expressed “profound sorrow and deep sadness” upon receiving the news of Mr. Odinga’s death. Speaking on behalf of the embassy, the Kenyan diaspora in Egypt, and in his personal capacity, the Ambassador extended heartfelt sympathies to the Odinga family, the people of Kenya, and all those grieving the loss of one of the country’s most iconic political figures.

“Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga was not only a statesman of immense stature but also a fearless champion for democracy, good governance, and social justice,” the statement read. “His unwavering dedication to the ideals of freedom, equity, and national unity inspired generations of Kenyans and earned him respect far beyond our borders.”

Ambassador Outa described the passing of Mr. Odinga as “a significant blow to the nation he so passionately served,” and lauded his enduring influence on Kenya’s political and social evolution. He concluded with a solemn prayer for peace and strength for the bereaved family and the nation.

“May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his family find strength and comfort during this difficult time,” he said.

Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga, a towering figure in Kenyan politics for over four decades, leaves behind a legacy marked by tireless advocacy for democratic reforms and national reconciliation.
