Jeridah Andayi, a long-serving presenter at Radio Citizen, a station owned by Royal Media Services, has left after more than 20 years on air. Andayi, known for her vibrant personality and professionalism, hosted several shows during her tenure, including the early morning “Pambazuka” show from 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM, and occasionally filled in for Fred Obachi Machoka on the popular “Roga Roga” program.

In addition to her on-air duties, Andayi also served as the Head of Radio at RMS, a role she handled with grace and professionalism, according to her colleagues and listeners.
Reports suggest that Jeridah relocated to the United States quietly about a month ago, with photos of her new life abroad circulating on social media. Her colleague, senior sports journalist Ali Kauleni Hassan, publicly wished her well, humorously referencing the recent tax hike in Kenya.
All the best, my sister Jeridah Andayi. How do you leave without saying goodbye? You’ve left us to deal with the 2.5% tax hike! I’ll see you in Chicago next year,” he posted.
Andayi moved to the U.S. with her three children: Will Andenga, Norah Zawadi, and her youngest daughter, Neema. Her departure has left a gap at Radio Citizen, with Tina Ogal temporarily stepping in as the station searches for a permanent replacement.
