The countdown to the biggest African football spectacle is officially on! The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has locked in January 15, 2025, as the date for the draw of the 8th edition of the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN). Football fans, mark your calendars—it’s all happening at the iconic Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi at 8 PM local time.

For the first time in CHAN’s 16-year history, three neighboring countries—Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania—will co-host this thrilling tournament. Set to take place from February 1 to February 28, 2025, this promises to be a historic month-long celebration of African football.
CAF has confirmed that the tournament will showcase some of the continent’s finest football nations, including reigning champions Senegal, who claimed their maiden title by defeating Algeria in 2022. A total of 17 teams have already punched their tickets, with one slot still up for grabs.

Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Chairman Nicholas Musonye is brimming with confidence about Kenya’s readiness:
“Indeed, there is a lot of work to do, but we are fully committed. We’re working around the clock, holding daily meetings, and ensuring contractors remain on track. It’s a tough assignment, but we’re determined to deliver,” he stated.
