Another suspect linked to the murder of former Wells Fargo HR Manager Willis Onyango Ayieko has been arrested, marking a new development in the ongoing investigation.

In a statement released Tuesday, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed the arrest of Fredrick Otieno Omondi, a motorcycle rider, in Kisumu. Omondi is alleged to have provided transport for Victor Ouma, also known as “Sisco,” who is already in custody for his involvement in Ayieko’s abduction. “Omondi is believed to have played a significant role in the events preceding this tragic incident,” the DCI stated.

Victor Ouma, along with his deceased brother Robert Wakolo Okoth and other unidentified individuals, has been linked to Ayieko’s murder. Last week, George Okoth Oduor, another suspect, was killed by police in Kisumu during an armed confrontation. Nyanza Regional Police Commander Patrick Tito reported that Oduor was found armed at a guesthouse near Kisumu National Polytechnic. “When officers encountered him, he was armed and ready to engage. The officers neutralized the threat, recovering a pistol and spent cartridges,” Tito said.

The latest arrest brings to light an intricate web of individuals connected to the high-profile case. A female suspect, initially involved in the crime, had also died in a confrontation with police along the Luanda–Siaya highway. Authorities recovered a pistol from the scene after a shootout.

The investigation into Ayieko’s death remains active as authorities work to bring all suspects to justice.
