Attorney General Dorcas Oduor has taken a refreshing approach to celebrating her appointment by organizing impactful community activities in North Alego, Siaya County, rather than the usual lavish parties and rallies.

Through the Ndege Community Resource Center, the AG spearheaded a series of initiatives, including a free medical camp, anti-jigger campaign, counseling sessions, and sports events.
Speaking at the event on Thursday, December 26, Center Director James Ndege highlighted the focus on hygiene, education, sports, and spirituality.
“Jiggers remain a problem in this area, so we’ve been teaching locals about hygiene while conducting treatments, deworming, and counseling,” said Ndege, noting the program has been running for four years and targets children under 18.

Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi praised the AG’s efforts, calling it a “noble cause” with tangible benefits for the community. The initiatives will culminate tomorrow, December 27, 2024, with an event at Nina Primary School, where government services such as birth registration, issuance of good conduct certificates, and medical consultations will be offered.
“This includes an employment bureau to help locals seeking jobs abroad,” Atandi revealed, underscoring the wide-reaching impact of the initiative.
