Diplomat Dr. Renish Achieng Omullo has been appointed Regional and International Affairs Advisor to ODM leader and Siaya Senator Dr Oburu Oginga.
The appointment, which takes effect immediately, was confirmed in a letter by Dr. Oginga, who said Dr. Omullo will provide strategic guidance on regional and international relations, with a clear focus on advancing the interests and objectives of the ODM leader.
According to the senator, Dr. Omullo will play a key role in strengthening diplomatic ties and enhancing international engagements aligned with the party’s vision and Kenya’s wider development agenda.
“Your vast experience in these areas uniquely positions you to make valuable contributions to the party’s regional and global initiatives,” Dr. Oginga wrote, expressing confidence in her expertise.
He added that he looks forward to close collaboration with Dr. Omullo to sustain a connected and progressive movement.
In her response, Dr. Omullo thanked Dr. Oginga for the appointment and pledged to serve with diligence, particularly in championing his global interests.
Dr. Omullo has a distinguished diplomatic record, having made history as the first Kenyan appointed by South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir as Special Envoy to Germany. Stationed in Berlin, she oversaw the country’s regional and international affairs, gaining extensive experience in diplomacy, international trade, and cross-border relations.
She previously served as Business Development Manager for Africa at Celle Brunnenbau GmbH, further deepening her credentials in international trade and relations.
Her more than two decades of involvement in diplomatic and trade affairs in South Sudan, coupled with her past advisory role to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on regional and international issues, position her as a key asset in steering the ODM leader’s global agenda.
