Simeon Otieno, famously known as Simy Kenya and a former comedian from Churchill Show, has set the record straight on his bold new style that has sparked a wave of reactions among his fans. Known for his cultural pride and artistic flair, Simy addressed the inspiration behind his outfit, emphasizing that it’s a tribute to the traditions and identity of the Luo community.

Simy explained that his net vest, feathers, and glittering attire each hold a unique cultural meaning.
“The net vest represents the fishing culture and identity of the Luo nation. Just as a net is essential for fishing, Onagi Show serves as a tool to nurture talent,” Simy shared.
“The feathers symbolize spiritual beings, a nod to traditions where feathers signify guidance, protection, or messages from the spiritual realm.”
He also added that the glittering elements on his pants and blazer symbolize the brightness and success that come from hard work and blessings.

In an interview with The Kenyan Tabloid, Simy revealed his current designer: the renowned Mr. Bolo Bespoke, director of Bespoke City Nairobi. “I’m dressed by the number one designer in Kenya, the master of East and Central African design, Mr. Bolo Bespoke,” he stated proudly.
Simy encouraged fans to embrace art’s evolution, saying, “Art, like any career, demands growth, creativity, and transformation. I love my fans regardless of their opinions, and I pray for blessings on them all.”

Simy also announced the return of Onagi Show to Nairobi after a year upcountry. The Onagi Show City Comeback Edition promises a monthly showcase blending Luo comedy and music, featuring talented Luo comedians and musicians in a unique celebration of culture and laughter.
