The FKF Premier League delivered pulsating action this weekend, headlined by Shabana FC’s stunning 2-0 upset over league leaders KCB at Gusii Stadium on Sunday, December 15. The result rattled KCB’s title chase and lifted Shabana’s spirits after a midweek 1-1 draw with Gor Mahia.

Brian Michira opened the scoring in the 29th minute, pouncing on a rebound after KCB keeper Farouk Shikhalo failed to handle Matthew Tegisi’s fierce shot. In stoppage time, youngster Austiane Odongo sealed the win with a composed finish following another rebound from Shikhalo, handing KCB their second straight match without a win after a goalless draw with Sofapaka.

Tusker Keeps Pressure on Leaders

At Dandora Stadium, Tusker’s Ryan Ogam continued his red-hot form, scoring twice to power his team to a 2-1 victory over Bidco United. Ogam, a converted defensive midfielder, netted his 11th and 12th goals of the season, first capitalizing on Shaphan Oyugi’s through ball in the 10th minute, then lobbing Bidco goalkeeper John Otieno after another slick assist from Oyugi in the 58th.

Although Bidco’s Samuel Munala managed a late consolation, Tusker’s win brought them level with KCB on 24 points, trailing only on goal difference.

Mathare’s Comeback Stuns Bandari

In Ukunda, Mathare United staged a dramatic rally to snatch a 2-2 draw against Bandari FC. First-half strikes from Shariff Majabe and Beja Nyamawi had Bandari cruising, but Mathare fought back through Ellie Asieche’s 71st-minute goal. An own goal by Swaleh Pamba in the 87th minute handed the Slum Boys a crucial point.

Elsewhere in the League

AFC Leopards and Sofapaka played out a 1-1 draw at Dandora Stadium. Kelly Madada’s early fifth-minute strike for Leopards was canceled out by Edwin Omondi’s scrappy equalizer in the 84th.

At the Sportpesa Arena, Murang’a Seal edged Posta Rangers 1-0, thanks to Humphrey Obina’s decisive 86th-minute goal, capping a thrilling weekend in the FKF Premier League.

With the race for the title heating up and surprises aplenty, fans can expect even more drama in the coming weeks.
