Siaya County Inter-Faith leaders have voiced strong condemnation of the rising cases of extrajudicial killings, abductions, and unlawful arrests in the country, urging security agencies to end the wave of violence.
Addressing the press at Siaya Scout Center on Friday, October 25, the leaders, led by Bishop Elias Ouma Sewe, Chairman of the Ugunja Sub-County Inter-Faith, expressed deep disappointment in the country’s security agencies, highlighting the anguish faced by families who have lost loved ones to the ongoing waves.
These horrific killings of innocent people must stop. We have a 2010 Constitution that upholds our rights to freedom and peace. We cannot live in constant fear, as if we are in South Sudan,” Bishop Sewe stated, urging security agencies to act swiftly.
His plea came just a day after the body of Wells Fargo HR Manager, Willis Ayieko, was discovered near a river in Nyamninia, Gem Sub-County. Sewe called on authorities to expedite the investigation and apprehend those responsible for Ayieko’s death.

Echoing these sentiments, Siaya Inter-Faith member Beatrice Awich voiced the pain mothers endure, knowing their children have become victims of cold-blooded killings.
As mothers, it’s heartbreaking to see our children lost to violence. We urgently call on the government to end these extrajudicial killings,” she said.
The leaders’ collective outcry highlighted the mounting insecurity in Siaya County, especially following similar tragic incidents in River Nyamninia and River Yala. They called for immediate action to restore a sense of safety and ensure justice for victims.
