The Group unveils new solutions as it deepens financial wellness conversations and urges
customers to prepare for potential El Niño-related risks.

Old Mutual has unveiled two new insurance solutions in Kisumu as the insurer deepens customer engagement and strengthens its financial wellness drive.
The solutions include Motor-Rahisi, which allows customers to spread payments for comprehensive motor insurance premiums over a period of up to three months, and the integration of Airalo eSIM services into Old Mutual Travel Insurance.
Through its partnership with Airalo, a global eSIM provider, Old Mutual Travel Insurance customers can access affordable mobile data in more than 200 countries and regions, allowing them to stay connected while travelling without the need to purchase or switch physical SIM cards.
Speaking during the unveiling, Old Mutual General Insurance Kenya Managing Director Japheth Ogalloh said the new solutions were designed to respond to customers’ growing demand for convenient and flexible services.
“Customers increasingly expect solutions that are convenient and responsive to their everyday needs. Motor-Rahisi gives motorists greater flexibility in managing the cost of comprehensive insurance, while our partnership with Airalo brings protection and connectivity together in one convenient digital journey,” said Ogalloh.

The Airalo integration enables travellers to select suitable data plans, activate their eSIM digitally and manage data usage and top-ups while abroad.
Ogalloh also urged households and businesses to review their insurance policies and take precautionary measures to protect their property and other assets amid the possibility of El Niño conditions later in the year.
“Insurance is an important part of financial resilience, but protection also starts with preparedness. We encourage customers to review their cover, understand the risks they are exposed to and take practical steps to safeguard their homes, vehicles and businesses against weather-related risks,” he said.
He added that early preparation could help reduce the financial impact of unexpected weather-related events.
The new solutions were unveiled during the Kisumu Market Storm, an engagement under Old Mutual’s ongoing There Will Be Signs campaign, which encourages customers to identify warning signs in their financial lives and take timely action towards greater financial wellness.

Old Mutual Life Assurance Kenya Managing Director Martin Karenju said the campaign was also focused on encouraging Kenyans to adopt stronger financial habits and plan for their long-term financial security.
“Financial wellness starts with recognising the signs and taking action early. Through the Market Storm, we are encouraging customers to build stronger savings habits, plan for retirement and invest consistently for the long term,” said Karenju.
Karenju said the insurer’s ambition was to help more Kenyans move beyond meeting immediate financial needs and focus on building sustainable wealth and long-term financial security.
The Kisumu engagement follows a similar activation in Eldoret earlier in the week, building on previous customer engagements held in Thika, Nakuru and Mombasa.
The activations are part of Old Mutual’s broader strategy of engaging customers directly, understanding their changing needs and connecting them with practical insurance and financial solutions.
