Alego Usonga residents gathered in large numbers at Nina Primary School in North Alego, Siaya County, on the second day of the “Government Mashinani” program, led by Attorney General Dorcas Oduor. The initiative seeks to bring essential government services closer to the people and foster public awareness of government programs.

Dr. Raymond Omollo, Principal Secretary for Interior and National Administration, underscored the significance of the program in enhancing service delivery. Addressing the crowd, he highlighted the achievements made so far.
“Since yesterday, residents have been able to access crucial services such as TaifaCare registration, passport issuance, and national ID processing. This program demonstrates President William Ruto’s commitment to ensuring that every citizen benefits from government initiatives,” Dr. Omollo said.

The PS also commended Hon. Sam Atandi, MP for Alego Usonga, for his proactive involvement in the program.
“Your leadership is evident in your active participation. Unlike many elected leaders who shy away from such initiatives, you have set a commendable example by ensuring your constituents reap the benefits of government efforts,” Dr. Omollo noted.
New Sub-County and Security Efforts:
Dr. Omollo announced the creation of a new sub-county in Usonga to streamline service delivery and boost local employment opportunities. On security, he called for unity and responsibility, particularly among the youth in Siaya Town.
“Let us create a conducive environment for our mothers to do business without fear. I urge young people to avoid activities that could lead to crime and disrupt their families. Today’s program also includes employment opportunities—ensure you connect with the right officials before you leave,” he said.

Free National ID Processing:
The PS encouraged residents to take advantage of the free issuance of national ID cards offered during the event.
“This document is critical for accessing numerous opportunities. Don’t deny yourself the chance to secure it,” Dr. Omollo emphasized.
Notable Guests and Resident Feedback:
The event, graced by Attorney General Dorcas Oduor, Dr. Raymond Omollo, and Hon. Sam Atandi, drew praise from residents.
“This initiative has brought services to our doorstep. I registered for TaifaCare and renewed my ID with ease. It’s a game-changer,” shared one attendee.
With thousands turning out for the program, government officials urge those who are yet to register for TaifaCare to do so.
