Preparations for the inaugural World Talent Conference 2026 have entered top gear, with the official 21-day countdown set to kick off on Monday, October 5, 2026, at the African Talent University (TATU) in Buoye, Kisumu.

The mega-summit, scheduled to run from October 26 to 30, 2026, marks a historic milestone as the global talent center comes to Africa for the first time, positioning Kisumu city at the epicenter of international innovation and creativity.
Speaking to journalists on Thursday at the university grounds, Prof. Humphrey Oborah, Founder and Sponsor of TATU, issued an urgent rallying call for nationwide and continental mobilization. He urged governments, academic institutions, communities, and the public to rally behind the upcoming landmark event.
“The World Talent Conference 2026 Secretariat is calling for massive institutional, governmental, community, and public mobilization ahead of Monday, October 5, when Kisumu will officially mark the 21-day countdown to the main conference,” Prof. Oborah stated. “This will be a historic occasion as the world talent conference center comes to Africa for the very first time with Kisumu as the host city.”
Bridging Talent and Capital
Prof. Oborah emphasized that the summit is designed to transition raw talent into tangible economic action. The platform will bridge the gap between talented individuals, institutional projects, and enterprises with global investors, donors, development organizations, professionals, collaborators, and mentors.
According to the organizers, a high-profile contingent of world-class investors and potential partners has already been secured. These stakeholders are primed to finance, mentor, commercialize, scale, and connect youth-driven projects to international markets.
“The conference is about bringing talent into action by creating a platform where talented people, institutions, projects, and enterprises can meet investors, donors, development organizations, professionals, collaborators, mentors, and other opportunity providers,” Prof. Oborah said.
“Schools, TVETs, and universities, submit your talent cohorts and projects. Kisumu must get ready, Kenya must get ready, and Africa must get ready.”
Free Registration and Open Access
In a move to ensure inclusivity, the organizers confirmed that attendance and general participation are entirely free of charge, with a nominal fee applied exclusively to exhibitors. However, online registration is mandatory for security and accountability purposes.
Schools, colleges, technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions, and universities have been urged to register their student cohorts and showcase innovative projects. Prof. Oborah noted that academic credentials alone are no longer sufficient in the modern economy, stressing that innate talent knows no age limits and offers boundless global opportunities.
County governments have also been challenged to identify local talents and landmark projects to showcase before the international audience.
