In a shocking revelation, Tobias Obong’o, a pastor in charge of an orphanage in Kond Nyigwen village, Kakang’utu West location in Rachuonyo Sub County, has been arrested for allegedly defiling and impregnating a 15-year-old school girl.

Rachuonyo East Sub County OCPD Laban Omol confirmed the arrest on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, stating that local residents alerted the authorities. During questioning, the victim, identified only as Lavender Awuor (a pseudonym), disclosed that the incidents occurred multiple times, ultimately resulting in her pregnancy.

Reports indicate that Obong’o had been financially supporting Lavender, a form two student at Ogilo Secondary School in Kabondo Kasipul Sub County. According to the minor, she initially feigned illness while at school, claiming a headache. After visiting a doctor, she discovered she was pregnant, prompting her to seek assistance from a nearby NGO where she recounted her distressing experience.

Anonymous sources within the community told The Kenyan Tabloid that Obong’o had a troubling history at the orphanage. A senior teacher revealed that the suspect had previously impregnated her stepdaughter, who ultimately dropped out of school to care for her child while her classmates continued their education.

Obong’o is currently in police custody and is expected to appear before Oyugis Law Courts today.
