Governor Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o has solidified a transformative partnership with Play Action International (PAI) to advance sustainable development in Kisumu County.

The governor revealed that the discussions, held today, focused on strengthening Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) programs, promoting green energy solutions, and enhancing infrastructure—key pillars of Kisumu’s growth agenda.

We are committed to building sustainable partnerships that address pressing challenges such as deforestation, renewable energy adoption, and carbon emissions reduction,” said Governor Nyong’o.

Highlighting Transformative Initiatives

Governor Nyong’o lauded PAI’s CEO, Murielle Maupoint, for the organization’s dedication to impactful development. He specifically spotlighted the Canon Nyong’o ECD Centre as a benchmark for ECDE programs in Kisumu County.

“This center exemplifies our shared vision for providing quality education at the foundational level,” Nyong’o noted.

The governor also praised the proposed Baby Pendo Park, envisioned as a cutting-edge facility featuring a technology hub and serving as an alternative to the Kisumu Museum. He hailed it as a testament to innovation and inclusivity.

The meeting saw the participation of Kisumu’s First Lady, Mama Dorothy Nyong’o; CECM for Education, John Awiti; CECM for Infrastructure, Salmon Orimba; CECM for Sports and Culture, Beatrice Odongo; City Manager, Abala M. Wanga; Kajulu Ward MCA, Benson Adega; and Railways Ward MCA, Sammy Onyango.

These stakeholders enriched discussions on aligning PAI’s initiatives with Kisumu’s transformative development goals.
