In a historic decision, Reverend CPA Benard Enos Otieno Owuor has been elected as the Bishop of Maseno East Diocese following a closely contested election held yesterday. The election, conducted under the Anglican Church of Kenya Provincial Constitution, saw Rev. Owuor emerge victorious against The Ven. Hannington Oluoch Ondiek and The Ven. Benard Okullo.
The announcement of the results sparked celebrations among the faithful as Rev. Owuor secured the majority vote, marking a new chapter for the diocese. The election process was presided over by the Most Rev. Dr. Jackson Ole Sapit, ACK Archbishop, with the assistance of Tom Onyango, the Provincial Chancellor, and Charles Dulo, the Diocesan Chancellor.
Archbishop Ole Sapit commended the candidates for their dedication and urged unity within the church as the diocese moves forward.
“The elections are over, and now we are called upon to forget the polls and concentrate on building the Lord’s sanctuary. Serve with humility and without bias, bringing everyone together to support the Lord’s work,” Ole Sapit said.
