Interior Principal Secretary Dr. Raymond Omollo has launched an expansive voter mobilization campaign across the Nyanza region, deploying four caravans composed of youth and artists to rally communities on the importance of civic participation.

Speaking to the press on Tuesday, April 14, Kenya Youth Transition Initiative (KYTI) Coordinator Salmon Ayieko said the initiative is aimed at encouraging eligible citizens to register as voters, apply for new national identity cards, and replace lost IDs ahead of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) deadline.
Ayieko noted that, beyond the caravans, dedicated teams of young volunteers have been deployed to conduct grassroots outreach, moving door-to-door to ensure that no eligible individual is left out of the registration process.
He expressed confidence that by the end of the IEBC exercise, the Nyanza region will record a significant increase in both registered voters and individuals with valid identification documents, thereby strengthening participation in the democratic process. He also lauded Dr. Omollo for what he termed a commendable effort in enhancing civic engagement.

Ayieko further revealed that Dr. Omollo has facilitated the movement of IEBC officials conducting the ongoing enhanced voter registration exercise across counties, including Homa Bay, Migori, Siaya, and Kisumu, enabling them to reach more folks through door-to-door campaigns.
Additionally, he said the Interior PS has sponsored a regional caravan spreading awareness across Luo counties, urging residents to turn out in large numbers and register as voters.
