Kesses, Uasin Gishu County – Court of Appeal Judge Aggrey Muchelule and his bride, Judy Kerich, celebrated their union in a grand traditional wedding on Friday, marked by pomp, color, and cultural unity.

The ceremony, held in Kesses, brought together notable figures, including National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii (Koti Moja), and Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa.

Leaders Celebrate Love Across Cultures

Speaker Wetang’ula emphasized the power of love to bridge divides, quoting, “Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope. I wish the couple infinite happiness, laughter, and love.”

Judge Muchelule, from the Luhya community, and Kerich, from the Kalenjin community, were praised for their marriage’s symbolism of cultural harmony. Wetang’ula called on attendees to embrace the vibrant cultures of the two communities, urging a national outlook beyond tribal lines.

Messages of Joy and Unity

Governor Barasa shared his congratulations, writing, “Joined fellow leaders in Kesses for the Koito of Hon. Aggrey Muchelule and his fiancée, Judy Kerich. Wishing them a joyful beginning as they embark on this new chapter together.”

A New Chapter After Loss

The wedding marked a new chapter for Judge Muchelule, who lost his first wife, Keziah Habwe, in March 2022 at the age of 64. Keziah, a respected leader in Kakamega’s municipal board, was instrumental in local development and governance.

A Celebration of Love and Diversity

The vibrant ceremony was a testament to love’s unifying power and the beauty of Kenya’s cultural diversity, with leaders and family joining to honor the couple’s journey.
