Residents of Kagwa sub-location in Rarieda Sub-county were left stunned after a 52-year-old man, Sylvester Onyango Okadho, mysteriously fell off his bicycle and died on the spot.
The incident occurred on Sunday, December 22, as Okadho was leaving a football match at Kagwa Primary School. Witnesses reported that he had given a young boy a ride on his bicycle. After traveling about 30 meters, he suddenly lost control and collapsed.
West Uyoma Location Chief, Samuel Gwege, confirmed that the boy jumped off the bicycle just in time and raised the alarm. By the time residents arrived, Okadho was already unresponsive.
Family members disclosed that the deceased had a history of high blood pressure, which could have contributed to the sudden death.
Police moved the body to Madiany Sub-County Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination as investigations continue to determine the exact cause of death.
The incident has left the community in shock, with many expressing sorrow over the unexpected tragedy.
