Kisumu’s energy sector marked a major milestone on Friday as Green Wells Energies Ltd. officially launched its state-of-the-art Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) refilling plant at Sabuni Road. The event also marked the company’s rebranding, reinforcing its commitment to clean and sustainable energy solutions.
Kisumu Governor Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o, who presided over the launch, hailed the investment as a game-changer for the region. He emphasized the plant’s role in job creation, environmental conservation, and economic growth, calling on other businesses to emulate Green Wells Energy’s approach to balancing profitability with sustainability.
“Green Wells Energy is leading the way in providing affordable and environmentally friendly energy solutions,” Governor Nyong’o said. “This investment strengthens Kisumu’s position as a key player in the energy sector and a strategic hub for economic development in East Africa.”
Caroline Adhiambo Okello, the company’s Managing Director, highlighted the significance of the Wells Gas brand, describing it as a solution-driven product tailored to meet the evolving energy needs of Kenyan households and industries.
The newly launched LPG facility is expected to provide a cleaner, safer alternative to traditional fuels, benefiting businesses, households, and industries across Kisumu and beyond.
With this latest investment, Green Wells Energy Ltd. is setting the stage for a greener and more energy-secure future in the region, further cementing Kisumu’s status as a growing hub for innovation and investment.
