Kenya’s Women’s Basketball League champions, Equity Hawks, took a hard-fought loss to Rwanda’s REG, 86-73, in a high-stakes Women’s Basketball League Africa (WBLA) clash in Tanzania.

Equity struggled early, trailing 25-14 in the first quarter and 50-35 by halftime. A fierce third-quarter comeback saw them win 22-18, but REG maintained their edge, closing the game at 86-73.

Despite the setback, Equity opened strong in the tournament, defeating Burundi’s Gladiators 73-57 on Sunday. They now look to bounce back in their final group match against Tanzania’s Fox Divas on Tuesday. Meanwhile, REG continues to dominate, having crushed Fox Divas 105-48 in their opener.
