The government has called on all Kenyans to uphold peace and vigilance during the Easter holiday, assuring the public of enhanced security measures across the country.

Speaking to the media on Friday, April 3, Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo said the Ministry of Interior has deployed adequate security personnel to guarantee the safety of citizens throughout the festive period.

He urged Kenyans to remain cautious and look out for one another, noting that the long holiday period requires collective responsibility.

“I would like to wish all Kenyans a safe and peaceful Easter holiday, from today, Friday, through to Monday, as we mark the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Let us ensure we maintain security and care for one another,” said Omollo.

The PS also appealed to parents to take extra responsibility for their children, emphasizing the need to ensure their safety ahead of the reopening of schools for the second term.

“To parents, ensure your children are safe so that when they return to school, we do not record cases of early pregnancies, crime, or other incidents,” he added.

Omollo further called on citizens, particularly members of the Luo community, to support the government, stating that the administration of President William Ruto has rolled out development projects across all regions of the country.

He noted that visible progress has been made nationwide under the current leadership and urged Kenyans to remain united and supportive as the government continues to implement its development agenda.

“As a government, we have made deliberate efforts to deliver development across all regions of Kenya. Through good governance under President Ruto, Kenyans are witnessing tangible progress. Let us stay safe and enjoy a happy Easter,” he said.
