Kenya’s reigning basketball champions, Equity Hawks, rebounded from an earlier defeat with a decisive win against Zanzibar’s Fox Divas in the Africa Zone Five Championships. Following an 87-48 loss to Rwanda’s REG, the Hawks dominated from the outset, claiming a 39-point victory. The Hawks’ strong performance saw them hold the Divas to single-digit scores in the final quarters, with captain Betty Kananu scoring 16 points and Judith Pantaleo leading with 19. Maryanne Nyagaki also added 13 points, securing the much-needed boost for the team’s title defense.
