Reigning champions Githurai All Stars delivered a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory over Kawasaki Sports to retain their Sakaja Super Cup title in an electrifying final at Dandora Stadium on Friday, December 20.

In a repeat of last year’s final, Kawasaki Sports struck first through Sedrin Achweya’s 17th-minute goal, but Githurai equalized in the 50th minute with Edwin N’gang’a capitalizing on a defensive error. The decisive moment came in the 82nd minute when Hasan Masoud netted the winner amid a tense goalmouth scramble.

Despite Kawasaki’s early dominance, they were hampered by a red card to Lennon Amugoza in the 77th minute for dissent. Githurai captain Kelvin Njuguna credited their resilience and teamwork for the hard-fought victory, securing the coveted KSh 3 million prize.

In the women’s final, Shrink Pack Starlets clinched the title after South C Queens were disqualified for fielding ineligible players. Shrink Pack claimed the KSh 1 million prize.

Individual accolades included Robert Sande (Kawasaki) as MVP, Jermaine Mukhatia (Shauri Moyo United) as Most Promising Player, and Ishmael Otieno (Githurai) as Best Goalkeeper.

Speaking at the event, FKF President Hussein Mohammed and Governor Sakaja praised the tournament for its role in grassroots football development, with Sakaja pledging improved sports infrastructure and an even bigger competition next year.
