The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness has issued a strongly worded statement condemning widespread claims that the world will end on August 2, 2025, terming the allegations false, baseless, and malicious.
“We, the leadership and congregation of The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness, strongly denounce the recent spread of false and misleading information about the world ending on August 2, 2025,” read part of the official statement signed by Senior Archbishop Michael Nieswandt.

Archbishop Nieswandt clarified that Prophet Dr. David Owuor has consistently affirmed the biblical truth that no one knows the exact day or hour of the Messiah’s return, referencing Matthew 24:36.
“Prophet Dr. Owuor has always been very categorical on the fact that nobody knows the day or the hour when the Messiah will return, as the Bible clearly states,” the archbishop emphasized.
He added that the unfounded claims were aimed at tarnishing the image of the prophet, undermining the ministry’s credibility, and disrupting the unity and testimony of the church.
The ministry further reiterated that it had previously addressed the issue in a public statement on July 13, 2025, which was carried by several TV and radio stations.
In an exclusive interview with The Kenyan Tabloid, Senior Deputy Archbishop and Presiding Bishop at Oasis Altar, Kisumu, Charles Gero, attributed the false reports to bloggers allegedly paid to discredit the church. He maintained that the ministry stands firm on scriptural truth and righteousness, and warned the public against being misled.
“We will always defend what is right according to the Bible. It’s difficult to stop bloggers from spreading rumours, but anything that contradicts Scripture does not come from this ministry,” Bishop Gero said.
He urged the public to disregard the unverified apocalyptic narratives and remain grounded in faith and discernment.
“We appeal to all media houses, bloggers, content creators, social media users, and the general public to refrain from sharing or entertaining these misleading allegations. As believers, we are called to pursue truth, peace, and righteousness. Let us not be quick to spread gossip, but instead be diligent in prayer, discernment, and unity,” the statement concluded.
