A digital marketing company, VML, held its first charity event aimed at empowering single mothers, widows, and the elderly in Kenya. The event held on Friday in Kisumu, saw 56 beneficiaries, ranging in age from 21 to 73, receive essential household items such as sugar, cooking oil, flour, and salt. The initiative was part of the company’s broader goal to alleviate poverty and provide opportunities for Kenyans through its innovative app.

Sylvia Opili, a representative of VML, explained the company’s mission.

“VML is a digital marketing platform that allows individuals to work from home or any location by completing tasks. Users download the app, pay a refundable deposit, and begin earning daily. This is about creating job opportunities for unemployed youths in Kenya’s challenging economy,” she said.

Opili highlighted the company’s ambition to reach as many people as possible, emphasizing that VML not only provides employment but also helps users achieve financial independence.

“Our main aim is to eradicate poverty. VML pays daily, making it a reliable source of income,” she added.

Renson Ouma, a beneficiary of the app, shared how VML transformed his life.

“This app has given me a job, allowing me to pay my bills daily. Many jobless youths waste time online posting content that endangers their lives. Instead, they can join VML, perform tasks, and earn money. If I didn’t have this, my account would probably have zero shillings,” Ouma said, encouraging other youths to embrace the opportunity.

Pauline Okomba, a widow and single mother, applauded VML for its impact on her life.

“Being a widow and single mother has been tough, but today’s charity event and the VML platform have given me hope. I plan to join the team because I see this as a life-changing opportunity. VML isn’t just for individuals; it’s a global initiative based in Kenya that benefits everyone,” Okomba said.

The event also served as a platform to inspire youths to rethink how they use their online time. Beneficiaries urged young people to avoid wasting data on platforms like TikTok and Facebook and instead download the VML app to earn a living.

VML’s innovative approach is creating a ripple effect across the country, offering practical solutions to unemployment and poverty while empowering communities to achieve financial independence.
