Ruto mourns death of Samia Suluhu Hassan’s husband, Hafidh Ameir Hassan

President William Ruto has sent a message of condolence to Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan following the death of her husband, Hafidh Ameir Hassan.

In a condolence message, Ruto said he had received the news of Hassan’s death with “deep sorrow,” extending his sympathies to the Tanzanian leader, her family and the people of Tanzania.

“I have received with deep sorrow the news of the passing of Hafidh Ameir Hassan, husband of Her Excellency Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania,” Ruto said.

The Kenyan president conveyed his condolences on behalf of the Government and people of Kenya, the First Lady, his family and himself.

“President Samia has lost a lifelong companion, her children a beloved father, and Tanzania a distinguished son,” he said.

Ruto assured Tanzania that Kenya stood with the country as it mourned the loss, describing the moment as one of profound grief for the First Family and the nation.

“Kenya stands with our Tanzanian brothers and sisters in this moment of grief,” Ruto said.

He prayed for comfort and strength for President Samia and her family as they come to terms with the loss, while wishing the deceased eternal rest.

“May Almighty God comfort President Samia and her family, give them strength through this difficult time, and grant Hafidh Ameir Hassan eternal rest,” he added.
