The County Government of Kisumu and humanitarian agencies are being urged to assist families in Obunga estate after a fire destroyed 14 homes early this morning, leaving residents with nothing. Edward Onyango, known as “Bob CEO,” an aspirant for the Kisumu Central MP seat in 2027, reported that the affected families slept in the cold after the fire swept through their homes around 4 a.m.
“It’s a sad morning for us in Kisumu Central; the fire has left these families devastated,” said Bob CEO, adding that fortunately, no casualties were reported.

The fire, which started in one house and quickly spread to others, destroyed essential items including clothing, food, and household goods. Bob CEO is calling on well-wishers and local leaders to provide urgent assistance to the affected families.
“This is the time to show love and unity to these families,” he added.
He also urged authorities to investigate the cause of the fire to help prevent future incidents.
“I feel for the children; this is why we as leaders must come together to mitigate the impact of this disaster,” he said.
Firefighters worked for hours to contain the blaze.
