Several families in Rodi Kopany, Homa Bay County, are counting heavy losses after a violent downpour ravaged their homes and businesses on Wednesday night. The storm, which hit around 9 PM, tore off roofs from rental houses, forcing residents to spend the night in the cold.

The strong winds and rain destroyed homes, kiosks, and business properties, leaving many with little to salvage. Led by local resident Michael Agawo, the affected families expressed despair, stating that nearly all their belongings were destroyed in the storm.
We’ve been left with nothing. Most of our household items were wiped out, and we could only manage to rescue a few things,” Agawo said.
The distraught families are now calling on the county government, national government, and humanitarian organizations to step in and provide urgent relief. They are appealing for shelter, food, and basic necessities as they try to rebuild after the disaster.
