Vivo Energy Kenya has praised the Chinese business community for sustained investments that continue to play a critical role in shaping Kenya’s economic growth.

Speaking during a Chinese New Year dinner held in Nairobi, Vivo Energy Kenya Managing Director Peter Murungi said Chinese enterprises have become an integral part of Kenya’s economic landscape, with a strong presence across key sectors.

“The Chinese business community has made significant contributions across construction, manufacturing, logistics, and infrastructure,” Murungi said.

He noted that Vivo Energy Kenya is proud to support the growth of Chinese enterprises as a long-term business partner, adding that the company remains focused on delivering reliable products and technical support to help businesses improve efficiency and minimise operational disruptions.

“Beyond supplying products, we work closely with our partners to enhance equipment performance, reduce downtime, and improve reliability as they scale up their operations,” he said.

Murungi acknowledged that while businesses in Kenya continue to face economic challenges, these conditions also create opportunities for collaboration and innovation.

“New opportunities emerge when businesses work together and adapt to changing conditions. We remain committed to supporting our partners in pursuing sustainable growth,” he added.

As Chinese investments continue to influence Kenya’s economic trajectory, Vivo Energy Kenya hosted the dinner to mark the Chinese New Year, bringing together members of the Chinese business community to strengthen commercial ties and foster long-term partnerships.

Kenya was highlighted as a key investment destination for Chinese firms, with partnerships spanning construction, manufacturing, logistics, infrastructure, and industrial development. These investments have contributed to trade expansion, technology transfer, and job creation across the country.

Vivo Energy Kenya, the distributor and marketer of Shell products and services, said it supports this growth by providing dependable energy solutions to businesses operating in these sectors.

The Chinese New Year will be celebrated on February 17, 2026, ushering in the Year of the Horse, a symbol associated with strength, momentum, and progress.
