President William Ruto has reaffirmed his commitment to eliminating divisive ethnic politics, emphasizing unity and development for all Kenyans.

Addressing a packed roadside rally in Kondele, and Kisumu Boys Roundabout, on Monday, November 26, after launching the 4th AfSNET Investment Conference, President Ruto warned leaders against propagating disunity and vowed to take firm action against such behavior.

“I said we will unite Kenya as one. Those spreading ethnicity, hate, and disunity will go home,” declared the president, emphasizing his administration’s zero-tolerance policy for divisive politics.

Ruto highlighted his administration’s focus on creating an inclusive government to streamline services for Kenyans. He urged residents to enroll in the Social Health Authority (SHA) as part of his Universal Health Coverage (UHC) program, which he says will address longstanding health sector challenges.

In a show of commitment to Kisumu’s development, Ruto pledged significant investments, including:

  • Advancing the Special Economic Zone in Miwani
  • Completing the Conference Centre at Mamboleo ASK Grounds
  • Finalizing the Kabonyo Kanyagwal Fisheries and Aquaculture Training Center of Excellence
  • Enhancing Lakefront development
  • Establishing a Maritime Surveillance Centre
  • Building fish landing sites

Accompanied by Nyanza region leaders, including Kisumu Governor Prof. Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, Ruto’s message resonated with the crowd. The leaders expressed their support for the president’s agenda, signaling a rare moment of political unity in the region.

President Ruto’s Kisumu visit underscored his administration’s focus on fostering development and cohesion, leaving no room for divisive politics.
