A renowned businessman and philanthropist, Dominic Mondo, has pledged to transform the lives of residents in Masogo Nyangoma Ward, Muhoroni Sub-County, as he sets his eyes on the ward seat in the 2027 General Election.

Mondo, who has been at the forefront of community empowerment initiatives, told The Kenyan Tabloid on Thursday that his priority is to promote education as a tool to curb insecurity and crime, which he linked to idleness among local youth.
“I noticed that the relationship between the authorities and the people was not good. There’s a huge gap, which is why we have convened meetings to address the issue. When a 15-year-old attacks someone with a machete, it means this is someone who should be in school,” he said.
The philanthropist revealed that he has already supported several youth groups by providing farming opportunities, car wash machines, motorcycles, and fundraising support, saying this helps keep young people engaged and productive.
Beyond youth empowerment, Mondo disclosed that he has mobilized resources to repair roads in the ward, accusing the current MCA of neglecting his duties since election. He insisted that his vast networks would continue to deliver tangible results for residents.
“I will not abandon my people by moving to Kisumu’s Milimani suburbs. I will remain in the village to serve my electorate. Leadership is about being present and solving people’s problems,” he said, urging residents to entrust him with their votes in 2027.

Mondo further expressed confidence in securing the ODM ticket, describing himself as a pioneer of the party in the region. He urged Masogo Nyangoma residents to embrace transformation, citing Embakasi East MP Babu Owino as a role model for active leadership.
“This is the right time for Masogo Nyangoma to embrace real change. Leaders must stop waiting for allocations from the Treasury and instead find innovative ways to develop their wards,” he said.
